THE RESOURCE BANK — Integrity

You can build connections.

You can learn skills.

You can make money.

You can build a great reputation.

But none of it means much if people can’t TRUST you.

That’s integrity.

And integrity isn’t what you do when everybody is watching.

It’s what you do when you could easily get away with doing something else.

Do you tell the truth when a lie would be easier?

Do you pay somebody what you owe them when they probably wouldn’t come after you?

Do you admit when YOU screwed up instead of finding somebody else to blame?

Do you keep your word when keeping it becomes inconvenient?

Do you do the right thing even when there’s absolutely NOTHING in it for you?

THAT is integrity.

And you build it the same way you build everything else in your Resource Bank—one little deposit at a time.

People notice.

They notice who keeps their word.

They notice who takes responsibility.

They notice who can be trusted with information, money, responsibility, or an opportunity.

And they REALLY notice when someone doesn’t.

You can spend 20 years building a good name and damage it with one really bad decision.

That doesn’t mean people can’t make mistakes. We ALL screw up.

Integrity isn’t never making a mistake.

It’s what you do AFTER you make one.

Own it.

Apologize when you owe somebody an apology.

Fix what you can.

Learn from it.

And don’t do the same damn thing again.

Because eventually, all the things we’ve talked about in this series come back to one question:

What do people know they can expect from YOU?

Your connections may open a door.

Your skills may get you through it.

Your reputation may get your name mentioned.

But your integrity is what makes people comfortable putting THEIR name beside yours.

Protect it.

Because your integrity may be the most valuable thing in your Resource Bank—and it’s the one thing nobody else can build for you.
