Life in the Country

I love being at my parents house.  I love the country!!!!  Yesterday we were driving back to the house from Anadarko  and there was a skunk on the front porch!!  We had to wait for him to leave before we could get out of the car.  He comes every night... I think he likes Matthew.  There is a creek behind my parents house and I have heard owls, seen snake skins and freaky bugs, as Matthew calls them.  We are just helping doing things around the house and Matthew has really been working hard. We have painted the den and reorganized shelves.  We have dusted and vacumned.  Matthew has cleaned gutters and trimmed a tree off the roof.  He put salt in the water softner in the well house and dumped two truck loads of trash.  He swept out the garage and helped clean out the pee trap for the A/C.  We have enjoyed stories and looking at albums.  Tomorrow I get to see one of my oldest and favorite friends and her kids.  I am excited to share some gossip and eat a meal with her!  So I will be going home soon to see Dennis who is holding down the fort.  I hope he cleaned the house... cause I will need a vacation when I get home! lol

Okay.... so, I think I am a hippy!

Not the drug doing, none bathing, free sex and naming my children Moonbeam, Happiness or Rain kind of hippy... but one of free thinking, rationalizing things differently, and wanting everyone to get along... kind of hippy.
I don't like the madness of the world.  I don't like the constant need that everyone has to have it their way because that is the ONLY way and if you don't do it that way, you are WRONG.  Do you know how many ways you can get from my house to say.... California?  SOOOO many ways.  None of them the WRONG way.  Some are a better way then others.  Some of them are shorter then others.. but they will all get me there.  Why can't people just find their own way to places and enjoy the company of those along the way.  Why do we have to argue fuss and complain about our differences?  I love to have friends that are different.  I call them the "spice"!  They add some flavor to my existence and I think it helps with my journey.  And we are all on a journey so why not just kick back and enjoy the ride.  Love everyone that comes into your life.  See if there is something that not only they can contribute to you, but that you can contribute to them.  And remember, there are a lot of different ways to reach the same place.

Attitude Check

You are not the center of everyone’s universe.  You need to remember that the world will not revolve around you.  You might have something happen to you that is important or traumatic or life changing, but that does not mean that it will affect other people in your life the same way.  You cannot expect people to always be your salvation.  You need to developed your own strength and not condemn those around you who are living their own lives. It makes you look sad and very self absorbed.  It also cause alienation from people that could or would otherwise be best used for other areas in your life.  So no, the world does not revolve around you, and the sooner you get that in life… the better you will survive it!
