Missed my calling Dang IT!

I have been subbing and I LOVE IT!  I have always loved kids... which would explain the whole daycare era... and I loved it when my kids would have all their friends over to hang out.  So it would stand to reason that subbing would be right up my alley!  I have down kindergarden, 1st, 3rd, Junior high and high School.  I have worked 32 days since school started 46 days ago! lol  I am really thinking about going back to school and becoming a school counselor.  I really care what they think and how they feel.  I was told in high school when I took some test that I should be a counselor... but I was like... "MORE SCHOOL????  NO WAY!"  Boy do I regret that move!  Anyway... I have until Jan to make up my mind... but it's really leaning that way.

You simply cannot give to the world all that you have to give to the world if you do not remain true to your own “selfish” desires.  You have a unique set of precious values that can only be fulfilled by pursuing what drives you the most: your passions and dreams.  Could Thomas Edison have tended to the downtrodden as Mother Teresa did?  Could Albert Einstein have preached salvation as Martin Luther King Jr. did?  Could Abraham Lincoln have built cars like Henry Ford?  Always, the masses benefit from the individuals who insist on marching to the beat of their own drummer.

House for Sale

We have now sold our house twice!  But have yet to close.  Both times it came down to loans!  We are devastated because we can't do what we need to do until we sell the house.  And it baffles me that this time, it went PAST the closing date to find out anything... and that was with me constantly driving my realtor crazy insisting on some information as to what we were waiting on.  I know that these two parties really wanted the house and it is so sad they didnt' get it.  What is sadder is that they are going to continue to drive down the street and wish they had.  Sometimes the time to do take chances is when the chance presents itself.  Although I have others that are interested in it right now... and one couple that still calls and says they will be back in January to try to buy it again.... it doesn't relieve the stress of NOW!  And I am a little aggravated because since this has happened twice, I feel like people are dropping the ball.  We will not be doing anymore contracts unless the loan is secure.  Don't care what the protocol is.  If the 3rd time isn't a charm I might go BALLISTIC!

Is it in Chicago?  Denver?  New Orleans? TV shows, as well as movies, gives us this false impression of what the REAL WORLD is suppose to be like.  I think from birth we are delusional about our matter of importance and the role we play.  Of course as infants and toddlers, our world is much smaller and we have a much bigger role... we are young, helpless and needy and therefore our needs are seen to.  As we get older and stretch on into the youth stage, our situation doesn't change too much, we still depend on others to take care of us... It isn't in wonder then when the real world happens at age 18 ... we are in a state of a culture shock.  Graduation happens all along the Nation, and young adults are expected to contribute to the work world.  No more summer breaks, or Christmas breaks. No more playing hooky, or exempting out of test.  So many allowances are always made by people these days and they seem to think the world still revolves around them. It makes me wonder if they are ready.
